33 at 33.
In November I turned thirty-three. For some reason, I always focused on the next birthday after I just had one. I have come to terms that yes, I am older, and you know what, I LIKE IT!
My twenties (and most everyone I know in their twenties) was full of insecurities and consuming yourself with petty things and the unknowns. Being 33 is where I’ve found a way to settle into the acceptance of who...
Product Obsession: Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm
First of all, its 100% natural. Second, there is such a wonderful tint to the gloss that you can use this product alone or over your favorite lip color. Lastly, its only $7!
Personally, I bought this for the hospital. Is it bad I want a little lip color while going through labor? Not to mention, Its made with natural products so when I smother my baby girl with kisses she wont be covered in...
Maternity Leave 101
Today marks my first day of maternity leave. Now, you may be thinking; Lucky! Vacation! Ummmm…NO! I am loosing top accounts, loosing a lot of commission, loosing stature, and loosing my solid streak of success. I am however; getting the best gift of them all; A Baby…. so take that corporate America!
This diagram makes me angry and bitter. How in the heck are women supposed to raise...
Making it Official!
Cam and I have been together for close to 4 years however we have known each other for close to 9 years. I can still recall back to St Patricks Day of 2007, we were in the back of the bar 2 me with friends and that’s when I first knew. People tell you about the moment when you just know; that was it for me. He was telling my friend about how I should date him and she and I were laughing at...

What's in your hospital bag?
This is whats in mine!
I am going in with the “Keep it Simple” approach. It’s 2-3 days MAX and if for some reason it is longer; I will be rallying the family for help! Cam made a good point the other night…. If we need something and forgot to bring it; we will just send someone to buy it. Bottom line; we will have much more important matters to tend to then being upset...
Baby Villa: 36 weeks
Baby Villa and I are doing great!!
I have to admit the extra weight is a bit difficult to lug around.
All food is amazing to me right now except, EGGS and FISH! Ew!
My legs are starting to swell and most shoes are off limits. ( I miss my 4 inch pumps!)
I’m 5’1 and I don’t think there is anywhere else for the pounds to pack on.
Poppy’s movements have changed. She...
Maternity Fashion?
It doesn’t even sound right putting those two words together right? Can you really be fashionable and pregnant? You’re gaining pounds on a weekly basis primarily in all the wrong areas (Hello thighs!). Not to mention, having to squeeze into some kind of elastic waistband pants or a top that has a lasso to highlight “your waist”. Nothing about that sounds attractive and...

Our last escape away...
Knowing that Miss Poppy will be making her grand entrance in a few weeks, Cam and I decided to escape one last time together as a family of two.
We went to Monterey last week and it was a wonderful two days full of R&R!
We left first thing Monday morning to get to the Monterey Bay Aquarium early! It had been a few years since both of us had been there and of course, it never disappoints. I...
Registry for Baby: 2.0
When it came to registering for Poppy’s baby shower I was a tad overwhelmed at first. I had some ideas for what I would need but does your baby really need anything other than you, a place to sleep and diapers in the first few months? No.
New baby products are sprouting up left and right. Its impossible to get whats best because whats best will change in 6 months. My only advice is get what...
The Last Hurrah!
As you may know by now, I am a list maker. The satisfaction of crossing a task off feels amazing! I know once this little nugget gets here lists are somewhat silly so until then, I am in list heaven!
I thought I would share my current To Do list before Baby Villa gets here so I can hold myself accountable.
1. Get garden beds cleared out.
2. Plant in above mentioned garden.
3. Even out front...

The truths about newborn care
I will start our by saying, I don’t know how to fully care for a newborn yet let alone my own newborn.
I do know that every child and mother is different and we have to do what is right for each of us.
This article was sent to me by a friend and I thought it was honest, accurate and helpful.
So with that; I must share:

Mommy Judging No More!
In the last week I have caught myself ( I know, I know) and others judging other Moms. It was brought to my attention by reading a blog post and I realized how horrible and harmful this really is. Who am I or who are you to judge another Mom? We are all doing the best we can and its not an easy job. Sure, I am still pregnant but that comes with its own set of judging and dilemmas. Are you eating...
Coconut Oil: The New Duct Tape
After years of hearing raves about Coconut Oil for everything under the sun. I did some research, started consuming it and using it everywhere…it’s a lot lighter than I thought it would be and I found this fun post online for 52 ways to use it. Enjoy!
Eat a spoonful when you need an energy boost.
Use it as the base for a homemade body scrub.
Use to condition your wooden cutting boards.
Use as...
New Moms: Just wait until....
I could not have penned a blog post better myself. It’s EXACTLY how I feel right now.
We know that the words of advice are coming from a good place but stop; seriously. I don’t want to wait until X….I want to enjoy every minute NOW!
Thank you Leslie for speaking directly to my hormonal heart!

45 Life Lessons, written by a 90 year old
1. Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good. 2. When in doubt, just take the next small step. 3. Life is too short not to enjoy it. 4. Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and family will. 5. Don’t buy stuff you don’t need. 6. You don’t have to win every argument. Stay true to yourself. 7. Cry with someone. It’s more healing than crying alone. 8. It’s OK to get angry with...
Weekend Road Trip!
Cam and I are heading up north this morning to the gorgeous Eureka/Humboldt area!
Cams’ Dads side of the family lives there so we try to make the trip at least once or twice a year to visit. The drive is beyond stunning. We take a special scenic route that usually takes about 6 hours to get to our final destination.
This photograph is from the Avenue of the Giants that we drive through....
The Power of Words
Nate Berkus, speaking candidly to his mentor, Oprah Winfrey on her Super Soul Sunday series, opened up in a two-part interview, sharing the emotional moments that came with discussing his sexuality. “I asked my father: ‘Do you trust me? Do you respect me? Do you think I’m smart?’ He said, ‘Yes,’ ” Berkus, 41, tells Winfrey. “I said, ‘Why...
