Cloud Gate
In the center of Chicago’s Millennium Park lies Cloud Gate, perhaps the most photogenic bean in the world. The reflective steel sculpture was built between 2004 and 2006 and is made of 168 stainless steel plates that were welded together leaving no visible seams. Anish Kapoor, the artist behind Cloud Gate, is said to have been inspired by liquid mercury.
No trip to Chicago is complete with out a photo op at “The Bean.” Go ahead and put your paws right on the sculpture — Cloud Gate gets wiped down twice a day so it’ll never lose its shine.
*Yes, that is my hand!
