After that, roles were delegated and the gals were off! Cam’s sister designed our custom invitations; they could not of been any more perfect! My sisters put together the most elaborate dessert and candy station I have ever seen. We had everything from starbursts and cookies to lemon bars and a fruit tarte cake from Ettores. Cam’s sisters put together a sweet burlap photo collage of us as babies and us together. Seeing those photos made me miss my Mom a ton and definitely miss the fact that Cams father is also no longer with us but it also reminded that we are still surrounded by soo much love. The decor was simple and beautiful. Burlap wrapped mason jars were filled with fresh seasonal flowers and hand stamped Poppy tables cloths adorned all the tables.  Cam’s mother Sheila and his step father Tom had a delicious mexican feast catered in. We had more rice, beans, enchiladas, fajitas, salads, chips and salsa than we knew what to do with. </p> <p>You may be thinking to yourself, Wow; that is a lot for just a baby shower but Cam and I really wanted an adult only, co ed evening party where everyone could come and really enjoy themselves. No games, no silly themes and no gift opening. We wanted to purely enjoy the company of our family and friends. It was wonderful to see our friends mingle together both new and old. My best friends flew all the way from San Diego to be there! The final headcount (I believe) was 130 people sooooooo yeah; it was a party!!! </p> <p>We came home on Saturday night and just keep replaying over all of the wonderful moments of the evening. We are beyond lucky and beyond thankful to have such a loving family and such supportive friends. We could not thank everyone enough even if we tried. There was not one thing we would’ve changed about the shower; not one! Okay, maybe more photos. Unfortunately, with 130 people in attendance we were too busy laughing, sharing stories, eating and saying hello that we didn’t get a lot of photos. If that was the only thing negative, well then I would say that was a good day.</p> <p>The next day we woke up early and headed back over to Cam’s parents house (where the party was held) with breakfast treats to help clean up and open gifts. There was only a few of us but it was nice to wrap up the weekend with the special ladies in our life. It took me 2 hours to open all the presents! I think its safe to say this child will need nothing for the first year or so of her life! We had friends make beautiful handmade items such as special portraits and a handmade crib quilt from Grandma Lee. We were already blessed with a gorgeous crib from Grammy Sheila and Grandpa Tom so now the room is coming full circle. </p> <p>I cannot wait to tell Miss Poppy about her party!
